Attempts at 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day...

Like most people have explained, these are not my normal eating habits. I spent the weekend in Iowa playing a 26-hour radio trivia game with my friends, and our team was kinda cooped up in a computer lab. 2.5 hours of sleep between Friday and Saturday, terrible eating habits, but there ya go.

March 4th
8:00 am - bowl of homemade macaroni and cheese, frozen (microwaved) strawberries, milk.
  • Recently I made a rather large batch of homemade macaroni and cheese, and it was clogging up the refrigerator at the apartment, so I ate some to get more fridge space.
12:30 pm - pita chips, hummus, grapes, water
  • Bought between classes at the convenience store in Blegen. Of the vegetarian options, this seemed the most substantial.
6:00 pm - vegetable lo mein, cream cheese wontons, milk
  • Ate with boyfriend's family, they were ordering Chinese takeout.
March 5th
8:30 am - bowl of frozen (microwaved) strawberries
  • Late to class, needed something quick
11:30 am - veggie burrito from Chipotle, milk
  • Ate something quick (I can down burritos like nobody's business) before road-tripping to Iowa
9:30 pm - medium thin-crust green pepper and mushroom pizza (4 slices), water
  • We were starving, wanted something fast yet substantial. Pizza joint with hardly anyone there? Sounds good.
Random snacks: piece of banana bread, square of coffee cake, a few animal crackers, a cookie

March 6th
10:00 am - pineapple, grapes, strawberries, cottage cheese
  • Quick run to the grocery store for breakfast, they had a fruit/salad bar. Not many other vegetarian breakfast options.
2:00 pm - finished green pepper and mushroom pizza (4 slices), water
  • Fruit breakfast wasn't as filling as I thought it would be. So I grazed on the rest of my pizza from about 11 am to 2 pm.
6:00 pm - mozzarella sticks, salad, veggie lasagna, bread
  • Out to dinner with friends. Celebrating completion of 26 hours of answering questions and coming in 9th out of 25-ish teams.
Random snacks: animal crackers

  1. Fridge space as a determining factor of diet--so true.

  2. all of your food items seemed to make a lot of sense given the situations. I think a lot of college students use ease as a main factor for what to eat, i do at least. I guess now is the best time of all to eat unhealthy though, probably will affect us all more when we get older. Oh well, such is life.
